the 90th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Finland and Japan
The official logo for the 90th anniversary year for the diplomatic relations between Finland and Japan is now finalized. This logo was designed by a young Finnish designer, Camilla Groth who has some experience of working with Japanese companies. She comments on this logo "Being Finnish myself I hope that I have been able to create something that is easily perceived also for Japanese people and that it may convey the overlapping feelings of the two nations.”
As she mentions, many elements of the Finnish and Japanese flags can be found in this logo such as red rising sun and the blue color of the Finnish flag in order to highlight the friendship between two nations. In addition, vertical blue stroke line reminds people of the Japanese calligraphy and the red rising sun which is slightly fading out to the outer rim gives vivid feelings. White color which is common for both flags is used for the number 9 and this 9 and the red rising sun compose of the anniversary number 90 together.
The 90th anniversary event information is available at the website: The Finnish Insitute in Japan Website
