The competition took place at three locations in central Melbourne: the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (diving and water polo), St Kilda Beach (open water), and Rod Laver Arena in a temporary pool christened the Susie O'Neill Pool (synchro and swimming).

Macau 2007 • the 2nd Asian Indoor Games
The 2nd Asian Indoor Games were held in Macau, China

Most events of the games took place at the Macao East Asian Games Dome.
Significance of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games Emblem
The shining sun is adopted from the emblem of the Olympic Council of Asia and symbolizes the enthusiasm, charm and cohesion of Asian people. Two Chinese characters make up the rest of the emblem. Two yellow strokes form the Chinese character for “people,” thus reflecting the concept of humanity. Two blue horizontal strokes form the Chinese character “two,” signifying the Second Indoor Asian Games. Two green vertical strokes represent two healthily growing trees, embodying the commitment of Macao to environmental protection and to the healthy growth of an Asian sports culture.
Together, these six simple strokes produce the image of a house, symbolizing the “indoor” games. This bright, simple, yet elegant emblem represents the overall culture of Macao – characterized by its immense vigor, diversity and unified support of the 2007 2nd Asian Indoor Games soon to be held in our region.
The concept of "Mei Mei" derives from the wild migratory Black-faced Spoonbills which come and perch in Macao every year. "Mei Mei" soars high into the sky, symbolizing that Macao opens new paths with endless innovative spirit, and also represent the youthful, boundless and ground-breaking force of the Asian Indoor Games. As this migratory bird has been chosen to be the mascot, "Mei Mei" not only shows her energy of flying high, but also encourages Macao citizens to participate in the Macao 2007, 2nd Asian Indoor Games.

H.R.H. Princess Galayani Vadhana was born on May 6, 1923 in London England. She graduated in the field of sience and academic chemistry. She is knowledgeable in Arts and Letters and particulary in English and French.
In spite her obligation to teaching, H.R.H. the Princess has considered it important to continue H.R.H. Princess Mother's work in the activities of the Foundation of Voluntary Doctors under the royal patronage of H.R.H. the Princess Mother. Their main objective is to alleviate the people's pain and suffering from illinesses. They particularly try to reach people in the remote areas of the country.
