Jakarta Palembang 2018 • the 18th Asian Games: "Energy of Asia"

  Jakarta Palembang 2018
the 18th Asian Games

2018 Asian Games || Pesta Olahraga Asia 2018

pan-Asian multi-sport event scheduled to be held from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.

"Energy of Asia"
(Indonesian: Energi Asia)

Emblem, Jakarta - Palembang 2018
The Energy of Asia lies in the diversity of it’s culture, heritage, and legacy. When all these elements come together, they will be a major force to reckon in the world.

The same principle applies to Indonesia, home to hundreds of ethnic groups speaking many different languages. Our Founding Fathers had envisioned a strong and united nation under the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika philosophy.

That is why we decide to propose three different animals as the official game’s mascot. Also in correlation to Asian Games, each of these animals represents an aspect of the sport competition such as strategy, speed and power.

Mascot
BHIN BHIN:
Bhin Bhin is a bird of paradise (Paradisaea apoda) that represent strategy.

ATUNG:
Atung is a Bawean deer (Hyelaphus kuhlii) that represents speed.

KAKA:
Kaka is a single-horned rhinoceros (Rhinoceros sondaicus) that represents strength.

Visit Laos 2012 | Simply Beautiful

"Visit Laos 2012" | Simply Beautiful

The official Visit Laos Year 2012 logo was created by combining the existing tourism promotion logo "Simply Beautiful Laos" (in the middle) and cheerful "Visit Year 2012" letters. There are 2 different color schemes: white based and blue based.

Vietnam (2012) : Timeless charm

2012: Timeless charm

Less than a year ago (January 26, 2011), the Vietnamese tourism administration unveiled a new logo to market the country to tourists. It was selected through a contest and featured a multi-colored star and the tagline "A different orient". It did however face widespread criticism and was eventually withdrawn.

Last week, the government agencies responsible for promoting Vietnam as a tourist destination unveiled another new logo, as well as a new slogan, "Timeless charm".

In the new logo, the V has been turned into a lotus flower with five petals in different colors. The five colors are said to represent different kinds of tourism, for example green for eco-tourism and orange for culture and history. The logo is credited to an artist named Tran Hoai Duc.

The new logo is to replace Vietnam's existing tourism logo, which was reportedly introduced in 2005 and features a torch and the tagline "The hidden charm".

New Logo (2012): Malaysia Airlines | wau bulan or Kelantan kite

New logo: Malaysia Airlines

The Malaysian flag carrier Malaysia Airlines unveiled a new livery yesterday, March 8, when they showcased a new Airbus A380-800.

The previous identity was launched on October 15, 1987 and created by Johan Ariff of Johan Design Associates. At the same time, the company changed its name to Malaysia Airlines in a bid to strengthen the image of its home country, having previously been marketed as Malaysian Airline System or the initials MAS. The previous red colour was complemented with blue and the airline symbol, a wau bulan or Kelantan kite, was tilted to appear more aerodynamic.
