The Commemorative banknotes were printed to commemorate the auspicious occasions of the fiftieth years celebration of the Coronation on May 5, 2000 and fiftieth years wedding anniversary of Their Majestise King Rama IX and Queen Sirikit on April 28, 2000. The banknotes were launched in two denominations, 50 Bahy and 500,000 Baht.
